Question How many contractors should I get to bid on my project? Answer 1 to 3.  You should interview several contractors, and narrow it down to 3 or less that you feel you would like to work with, prior to bidding. The construction process, especially on a new home is very involved.  Your relationship with, and ability to work together productively with the builder is vitally important to the successful completion of the project.

Question Should I hire only licensed contractors? Answer Absolutely. Not only should ALL sub-contractors be licensed they should have liability and workers compensation insurance.
